Garage heat opinion..........

Hey guys,
I reload in my garage and of course it's a bit chilly to sit down and do any work without any heat.

What's your opinion of using a propane forced air heater to warm my work space? Of course it won't be close to or pointed at the bench..........

Not my favorite kind of heat. I have one that I can use in my shop when working on vehicles and such (reloading bench is in the house). It's loud and the air gets "stale" in a hurry. Probably because it's adding CO and burning up the oxygen.

On a positive note, it does warm the place up pretty well.

I've seen some vented forced air heaters that utilize a heat exchanger and vent the combustion gasses. Those are pretty pricey though.

Leave one of those electric heaters on all night and while you are in there. Yes those 12 dollar ones.
I had a wood stove in my garage in spencer.
Later got a down flow furnace 80,000 btu and mounted in the rafters.

from 10 degrees to 75 in 7 minutes.

I have one of the forced air heaters in my shop to knock the chill off so the central heat unit in the corner doesn't have to work as long to make the shop comfortable. It only needs to stay on a couple of minutes.
Be sure to have a carbon monoxide detector near your bench.
