Official 2017 AR build session

Okay, this is a bit out of my area I generally don't do well with groups I don't know , I am one of those quite guys, but I will fight and over come! I will be the quite person watching, I have a full AR to put together but I still need to cerakote the lower, and a couple other parts so that won't happen, but I do have an upper to lube and torque into position. Then if anyone has head-space checkers that would be great.

And if you are lucky I will bring somthing home baked, liked cookies! I may not have a lot to offer, tool or knowledge wise but I will bring something to help even out the scales!

Knight92, come on over! I don't know a thing about head spacing but it's possible someone else coming might. I am a quiet guy also, just trying to nudge the herd along with what LITTLE knowledge I have. and I mean LITTLE!
Bring a chair, donuts and lurk in the back.......... it's all good!

We will have the tools to torque your upper no problem for sure. As far as head spacing......Is that the one where you drop your pants and see how close you can get to smacking something with a hammer without hitting it?

I am sure we can make a rough headspace gauge with some brass. If someone has a gauge then let me know otherwise I will see what I can work up.

I thought about getting some gauges, but I never got around to it.

I'm definitely up for doing another one of these at a later date. I have enough to build several rifles right now, and I imagine I'll demonstrate with one build, and someone else can play with my lowers to put some together. I actually think I have all the parts to build 5 complete rifles for myself as well as a friend's 7.62x39 version. I have tons of lowers, but really need to get some more parts kits beyond that. I was thinking of doing another in the May or June timeframe, but after buying this many parts, I MIGHT have to wait till fall before I am ready to do any more. lol

I'll still build a couple rifles, though, even if I am the only one there! Don't get it twisted, I don't get a ton of free time, so I been lookin' forward to this. lol
