Why would a Glock not cycle 147gr rds with a suppressor?

It was the ammo. 147gr Freedom Munitions will not cycle with a suppressor on my two Glocks. Fiocci 147gr ammo and 147gr reloads from Village Tactical both function fine.

Freedom Munitions is crap. My Tirant 45 cycles just fine on my G19, 2 G17's, but not my G26. I usually shoot Speer or Remington.

It's funny how my Gen3 G17 will run 128-130pf competition 147 reloads (890fps) like a Swiss watch with a threaded Bar-Sto and Evo-9 can, but I hand it to other IDPA competitors and it will fail to eject frequently. After a match one day, half my squad shot it and it choked on all of them. I'd take it back and run a half mag through without issue, like I was a magician. It got to the point it became a challenge for the rest of them to make it run. Fun times!

Running factory Remington or Winchester 147 makes it run for just about anyone, but it's a lot louder.

We played with a PCC rifle today after the Ponca City USPSA match. It was interesting to hear how different rounds/loads had an effect on the gun and how well it shot. The 9mm can be picky because of the small amount of gas it produces to make it function.

FWIW, I've had nothing but great luck with my threaded Zev barrel in my gen 3 19 with my Silencerco Octane 45HD. Got a couple hundred rounds through it now with various types and weights of 9mm from various companies. All have worked flawlessly and had no failures of any kind. Shot better groups with it than the stock barrel too.

They don't run off of gas brother....

It's all about the recoil, but I hear what you are saying. Last match I shot we had 3 PCCs in the squad. Joe's just couldn't be picked up by the timer, he had 5 reshoots I think. But the same timer would pick mine and another guy's up just fine and we were both running gamer loads while Joe was running factory, so in theory it should have been louder. That shot timer apparently thought otherwise. I think it boils down to the pressure curve produced by the specific powder/bullet combo being shot in a suppressed gun and same goes to the harmonics in the shot timer thing. That's my theory anyway...

Heck, I'd never had one in my hands before. Just "assumed" it was a gas gun. We know what happened there, lol.
Tony, Micah, and Mitch were jabbering on about bullet weights vs velocity, vs timer pick up for each.
I might actually get to know one a lot more personal and up close in the future if Tony works his magic.

I've had to do several re-shoots with 147 grain reloads cause the timer didn't pick it up. I'm going to switch to 124 grain for my next batch of reloads and see what happens.
