i need some help making a selection for a rimfire can. I only shoot .22lr, and do not expect to ever get a .17hmr or .22mag. I tend to shoot once/twice a month so I am not a huge volume shooter. I am mainly wanting this Suppressor to help get the kids started in shooting earlier. My oldest, 4 yrs old, always wants to shoot with me but he hates loud noises. I really need to stay sub- $300 on the purchase as I will need to get a couple rifles threaded to use with the can and I want to get a .22 pistol host. It seems like Surfire Ryder and Gemtech GM-22 are the best, but I don't need the absolute best with the amount of shooting I do.

Here are a few I am considering. Any help via good/bad experiences would be appreciated.
>AAC Aviator 2
>Silencerco Warlock II
>YHM Stinger
>Thompson Machine Isis 2
>CGS Hydra AL

Huntertown arms makes a nice stainless .22 can that will handle all the way up to 5.7x28 for $200
It's an enclosed baffle design that takes apart easily without special tools and since it's stainless, the baffles can be dropped in a sonic cleaner or dumped in the brass tumbler.
It was the best bang for buck I found in rimfire cans, so I got one and I'm very happy with it.

I have a huntertown 5.56 can and I wouldnt have any other. I dont have any 22 cans but I run this one on my 22's all the time. Definitely give them a look.
That is like buying a 1 ton dually to pull the golf cart on the weekends.
Yep it will do it, but a few $$$ more and heavier, bigger and bulkier. When teaching a 4 year old to shoot 5 or 6 ounces on the end of a rifle barrel is going to make a big difference, especially after 15-20 minutes.

Yeah, well when you live paycheck to paycheck you have to make due. As a single father on a limited budget I had the chance to buy only one can after about 5 years of trying to do so. So that means it would probably be at least another 5 before I could buy another. So I got the 223 can.
And, yes I did teach a 5yo little girl how to shoot and everything she shot had this can on it. 22 up to 223. Now she has her own Ruger American Ranch Compact 223, Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 MOE SL, and her original cricket. Shot her first "all by myself" deer at age of 8 with an AR in 300 Blackout. She wont go shooting without a can. Wont go hunting without a can. She would rather deal with the weight and have less noise and recoil and not have to worry about muffs and can actually talk to and hear dad while in the process of shooting.
