:coffee2: Hmmm... "Honey, would you please get the door?" "Sure, let me grab my pistol and go see who's here..."

Do ya suppose that some shyster defense lawyer would then try to get their client off by pleading not guilty by reasons of a "caffeine high" and then sue the coffee maker and then also file a class action lawsuit against the coffee "makers"(Folgers, Maxwell House, etc.)???:shocked::rollingla

First call goes to a call center contracted to take such calls. Only upon getting a "further review" status is the call transferred to an FBI examiner.
I have found that all "further review" responses automatically become "delays" that can take up to 72 hrs, not counting the day check was initiated or weekends or holidays.

I frequently get "further review" and they usually come through in 15-45 mins.
In the last 4-5 months all my further reviews became delays. Most delays are changed to proceed in a day or two. Some have come after the 72 hour rule. One became a deny which was successfully appealed by my customer. NICS told me that due to high volume all further reviews automatically become delays. So far she has been right. The deny was the first in mearly 1000 sales.

I got further review Monday. At least that is what I think he said it was. I do know the call was transferred to someone else. It added no more than 5 minutes to the call.

I can remember one or two instances recently where this was the case. There are times when "further review" becomes a "delay" because NICS needs more time to look at records, and there are times when "further review" automatically becomes a "delay" because of the high volume of background checks being made at the time. Thankfully, we have run into the latter scenario only once or twice since the first of the year. My last "further review" was probably a week or two back and resulted in me being put on hold for 15-20 minutes before I got a "proceed". And if you got only one denial in nearly 1000 sales, that is a damn good record. NICS reports the average at about 1 denial per 100 checks. We average about double the national average.

There's another nit-pickin' little difference.

For years I've wrote "NMN" for no middle name behind my middle initial as I don't have a middle name,,,
Now I was informed I must write "IO" for initial only.

How do I know this you might ask?

On Saturday the 4th of February I picked up a Henry Mini-Bolt at the OK City Cabela's,,,
That following Monday I got a call saying I had to come back in with the rifle and re-do the paperwork.
I wonder what Teller (of Penn & fame) does....
