Following you. It is my understanding the Japan moving in a huge fleet is something new.
In reality, the NORKS have close to 5000 artillery pieces already in place with known locations to shoot at in the city, and around 1000 Migs than can reach Seoul in a minute or so after launch. Not counting the tanks and APC's ready to break out of underground tunnels under or over the DMZ. Its a tenuous situation to say the least with Seoul having a population of 25.6 million people (almost half of the total country's population) located in an area where a concerted attack of conventional weapons could kill hundreds of thousands within days.
All of that said, I still don't think the pillsbury fat boy is ready to die for his country. It is a chip in their box though in negotiations.

Not really. The NORKS and the rest of the world have known for years that if they "go south" we will have no option but to go nuclear. That's been the unspoken truth for years now.

I think the fat dog eater kid is just bluffing, but who knows? He may really be insane or brainwashed. Hopefully he has some of his faculties left to reason with.

I'm rubbing a couple brain cells together and wonder, what with as militarized as North Korea is, if there might be a coup waiting in the wings to take over if the dizzy little brat decides to strike out and basically sign the whole country's death warrant. :coffee2:

North Korea's military capability is, most likely, a lot likes the USSR's in the 80's. They seem to have massive numbers but in reality most of it's probably close to unusable. Not to say that they could not do some damage, but, under real pressure their army would fall apart faster than Saddam's.

They fell apart in the Korean War. Only intervention by China that overwhelmed allied forces prevented a complete rout.

It's quite simple. I think there might be a cabal of high ranking generals in North Korea poised to overthrow Un if he goes too far. I have no proof, only what I believe I would do if I were a high ranking general in North Korea.

If Kim Jon Il even imagines a high ranking general (or any other title you can think of) is thinking about making a move that high ranking individual winds up in front of an anti-aircraft gun and obliterated.
