after Farm Bureau dumped us because of a water line leak in a bathroom that ruined $1000 worth of carpet.
That's odd, I have used FB for 35 years, had a few lage claims (totalled a new truck, new roof on current house) they have always been good to me. Then about 4 years back I hear of all these canceled policies FB did. I called them and asked and he said basically they had insured too many people who only had their cars insured or only the house but not both. They keep a small percentage of those type clients now. I have always had the cars and house so they said I was in no danger of cancellation.

We had everything bundled with FB. Boat, tractors, three vehicles and home. Personal friends with the agent.
The letter from FB was pretty blunt saying they could not insure homes that developed internal water leak damage, as it would be an ongoing situation. When I spoke with the agent, he said FB was just about under water financially because of all the tornado and flood damage during the early 2000's, and were dropping anybody with a claim.
When I showed the letter to my wife about them wanting our business back, she said it would be a cold day in hell before that happened.

We have been buying our homeowners/auto insurance through an independent agent. We rented for six months after we sold our last home while our new one was being built. (We moved in one year and one month ago.)

His name is Brian Brandon and his agency is "Amerisurance Agency, Inc." He has been our agent for about the last ten years and has never let us down.

Telephone 405-285-6163

He is located at 8 East First St., Edmond.

IME, coverage depends on the agent and adjuster as much (if not more than) the insurance company.

Kinda like tool companies (Snap-On, Mac, etc.)... the salesman can make it go either way.

However, your attitude can also have a large effect. ;)

I am sure they are good insurance company, but I was enlisted in the Army. USAA used to not take enlisted members as customers, we were not elite enough for them. If my money was not good enough for them back then, they are not good enough for me now. I would not and will not do business with any business that has ever discriminated against me.

At the time, they were a private association with membership requirements. You didn't meet those requirements. How is that discrimination?

You likely don't meet the membership requirements of the Association of Professors and Scholars of Iranian Heritage. So are they also discriminating against you as well? http://www.apsih.org/about-us/apsih-bylaw

Please expound your point of view so that we can understand how you were discriminated against by USAA? Your comments don't pass muster as they sit.
