Has anyone owned either of these products or known someone who has? I have had other covers for truck beds but really leaning towards one of these retractable designs. I have it narrowed down to the Retrax Pro MX or Roll N Lock A Series. Thanks for your input.

I've got the Retrax Pro on my truck. I like it and like the low profile. The low profile roll-up does reduce the space in the bed under the rollup a little more than the Roll N Lock but it has not been a problem for me. Also, I like the metal cover for long term durability in the sun / weather versus the vinyl covered metal of the Roll N Lock. The Retrax Pro has kept cargo in the bed dry during both sitting in the driveway during a storm and during driving through a storm. Water does get into the bed but only around the tailgate area.

These bed covers are nice - you can securely store cargo in the truck bed or roll the thing back and use a truck for what it is intended for.

I have the Pace Edwards Full metal Jack Rabbit. This is my second one, had on on the last truck for 6 years. Looked at all of my options on this truck, and ended up with the same cover. I don't care for the canister at the front of the bed, but honestly it has rarely, if ever hindered me from hauling anything.

Had a roll n lock for a couple years. I preferred it over the retrax because I could set stuff on top and not worry about scratching the finish. No issues with the vinyl fading or cracking but I park in the garage and only had it for a couple years. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these. Function is pretty much the same. Go with the look you prefer or whichever you see to be the best value.

Thanks guys. Did you both do self installs?

I did on both of mine, very straight forward, no issues. I did it by myself the first time, helps to have a second set of hands once you get the rails on the canister to set it all up in the box. Son helped me on the second one.

Did you have the Retrax Pro with the metal top or the first Retrax with a plastic top? I set stuff on top of my Retrax Pro and have not had problems with scratching.

I have a roll n lock for 6 years now. It doesn't keep the bed dry, and you can't open it if it's frozen w/ ice, but other than that it works well.
