Personally I'll stick with the 300lbs on average of elk meat, and a hundred pounds or so of deer venison that had been put in my freezer annually for well over 30 years.(Elk for the last 10) A portion of it goes to the kids because they grew up on it and like it, prefer it over beef.
We have bought one pound of ground beef in the 30 years the wife and I have been married. That was for a lady coming out for a burger fry that insisted she would not eat anything from the woods, only from a grocery store.
A quick distraction and sleight of hand moved the patty she had her eyes on to another location. She got deer. Loved it.
My apologies to cattle ranchers.

I wonder if they weren't "tasting" some other herbs and seasonings.

Yes, tofu with 100% synthetic ingredients.
There are a lot of synthetic food taste ingredients in the food industry.
This is the reason my freezer looks like this, and there is another one on the upper landing that looks just like this one. Fish and some ribs to round out the menu.

Aren't these the same people that whine and cry when we kill an animal?

So which do they desire...Kill off all the animals because they are bad for the environment or leave them alone and let them overpopulate? I'm either confused or very dense...Possibly both.

Elk...... did you go out of state for the elk ? I am thinking about taking a guided hunt for one next year.

The worst burger have ever eaten was good. But the best were the days ?(sixties) when one could get five good greasy hamburgers for $1.00. They were great!

Pffftttt...

...I'm old enough to remember MacDonald's 19-cent hamburgers. Time was, when I was TDY to Virginia in the '60's, I'd tour Washington D.C. on free days. The only thing as a private that I could afford were those.

That's probably why I don't care for MacDonald's at all.
