Jen and I will be half way through our Oregon adventure this Saturday, we are both distraught at missing the ENS but will make do with a bit of Tillamook cheese and a French loaf.. See ya'll @ October's ENS.

I noticed a sign in Ponca for a BBQ festival this weekend, you can buy samplers of the different BBQs, sampling starts at 1230PM. Not sure if anyone is interested in this, or if Danny's (formerly Head Country BBQ) is still a better bet.

Just thought I'd throw it out there...

I'll be there with The Wife and The Boy. At the Eat 'n' Shoot, not the festival, unless people decide they want to move the eating part out there, instead.
That is the official State Championship BBQ competition that is held in Ponca. The lines are long as you carry your plate around to the different cooks to sample their BBQ. Not sure if Chili is included this year or not.
I'll leave that decision to the group that attends.

Eh... long lines do NOT make me interested. And it's going to be over 90F and that will be midday.

On a brighter note, anyone in the mood for BBQ locally may be out there, so the BBQ joint may be fairly empty, right??? lol

More than likely. We go to Danny's after our matches around Noon or later on Saturdays. There is a steady crowd, but it's never crowded for the lunch crew. Evenings get more so.
It's not a flashy place, but it holds its own against rib crib next door by a long shot. Very casual dining.

Never been a fan of Rib Crib.

However, I do have a business card signed by Danny Head for free meals - unlimited. ;)

With Friends??? Lol. Competed against Danny for many years. NOBODY beat him for a long time. He's a member of the gun club we will be shooting at.
the last BBQ I had at rib crib was something out of hell. The ribs went past the tender stage back to the stuck on the bone charred charcoal stage. Had to put BBQ sauce on them to get enough moisture to eat and keep the charcoal dust out of my eyes. That bad.

He seemed like a real nice guy the time I met him. I never used the card, felt kinda awkward claiming free meals from someone else's pocket, plus I likes my own BBQ too much! ;)

Man I wish I had time to load up a few hundred rounds of Blackout. Anyone got any sitting around? I've got a ton of brass, and I could compensate you for your time and components... but at $1/round at Academy, that stuff gets out of hand quick.
