I'm open to shutting down Medicare, social security, Medicaid, the federal highway system, repealing the 1986 emergency Care act and other aid programs. Why should my taxes pay loans to students in college? Why should I have to pay for food stamps for some chicks baby?

And Its not like the people that administer the programs aren't trying to push them either. Ask Annie about what programs they were trying to get her to sign up for when she was a single parent and broke. The VA controls the providers, as well. Also, Medicare and Medicaid are actually very efficient compared to private health insurance plans. Infact, Medicare and Medicaid already cover 44% of health expenditure in this country.

Also, I pay for my own healthcare.

Now if you believe Medicaid is more efficient than private insurance then you've one upped yourself on inexperience and ignorance of the system.
