Something to keep in mind on the Silencerco, the guy I purchased from tried the different end caps on a .223 and the .458 end cap wasn't any louder than the .223 end cap. Something you may want to research further, that could be a considerable savings there.

Interesting. Not necessarily specific to the Hybrid, but some reports I've read have said that caliber specific end caps can make a noticeable difference. There's a lot of companies doing that now. At least if it's still effective then I could definitely save some cash up front. Then just add them later as I felt like it.

The difference in sound changing the caps is going to depend on many conditions. From the shooter's perspective there usually negligible difference when outdoors from an uncovered shooting position. Any additional noise is down range. From an observer, the sound will increase depending on his position. Any as any cover increases forward of the shooters head, the difference will increase. Once the cover is in front of the muzzle it will be more. If shooting toward something the reflect sound it will increase.

That said, a short rifle suppressor like my mini-4 gives up a bunch. But it is almost hearing safe on a 10.5" barrel .223, and is hearing safe on 12.5" or longer .223. It's all in what your end goal is.

What kind of .300 blk do you have?

That 16" in the previous picture is a AAC upper, I have a 12.5" just like it and a complete factory AAC 9" pistol. The pistol is now just a lower sitting in the safe as the upper spends most of its time on a PDW lower.

While I agree, I can't afford to buy four dedicated suppressors up front.

I would need:

9mm Pistol (no .40 or .45s right now)
.300 blk (short can for short gun)
.223 AR
.30 rifle

I apologize, by dedicated, I meant a 30 cal can to switch between rifles with a quick attach muzzle brake and a .45 can to cover all your pistols and just get different thread pistons to accommodate different thread pattern barrels.

Another thing to consider, most pistol cans are 1.250-1.375” diameter. Rifle can start around 1.5”. The hybrid is larger than 1.5”, maybe 1.6”. It doesn’t sound like much on paper, but makes a big difference when you start looking through the sights on your pistol. The Osprey is an advantage on this. I can run it with some of my stock height sights.

Gotcha. Yeah, that's my plan to do.

Still considering the Hybrid, because from what I read it seems to give up so little in the rifle category considering what it gains in the large bore and pistol capability.

I would still plan on a true pistol can eventually.

Not particularly settled on anything at this point. Gah! too many options and too little experience.

@Mad Professor or anyone else who has a Hybrid

Do you have a .300blk AND a .308 (or other similar caliber rifle) that you can mount the Hybrid and/or AAC 762 on? I'd like to hear the difference between .300 blk and full power standard rifle cartridges. If at all possible between both the Hybrid and a true 7.62 rifle can. I'm reading that .300blk subs suppress so easily that it's not a very good sign of how well a suppressor will perform.
