The head of OK2A addressed our Ponca City Gun club a couple months ago. He said carrying a pistol openly was legal, but carrying a long gun across the street to show your buddy, not in a case could be a felony.
I think it was supposed to be one of the gun laws scheduled to be modified and improved this month.

Carry a rod and reel with you and it's ok.

If i saw that, unless i knew what was going down, i'd probably call the cops assuming my neighbor was about to get robbed or something crazy. Who carries a gun openly in their hand while getting mail or trash? i might throw a snubby in my pocket but that's about it.

Jeans on in the morning, 1911 in the IWB holster. Sometimes T-shirt covers, sometimes not. My house, my property, don't like it, stay away.

Now, out open in my hand in my yard, yes and if I do I usually have have a reason, many times with the dogs barking and such, especially at night I have it in my hand. I also target shoot in my yard with it in my hand any time I want, same difference. It is my opinion, I am legal with the law. I am not putting anyone in danger having it handy. It is just as much in my control in my hand as it is in my holster.

Personally, I'm not sticking my 1911 in my white-tities. Just me.
