I wanted to dislike Glocks, but I think it was because the serious Glock guys would always be talking about how they were the best of the best of the best. I vowed to never own one out of pure stubbornness. I broke that vow and I'm glad I did. While they're not the best of the best...in my opinion they're exceptional.

The Beretta 92. The grip is gigantic and for me the safety/decocker is just awkward. And pump shotguns with pistol grips and chainsaw grips and the like.

You don't like the Beretta 92?? BLASPHEMER! Kidding of course. Everyone has different tastes. To me, those Berettas are the best of the best of the best.

I'm on my second lcp. If I could pocket carry a 9mm I would. but until then my trusty stainless lcp goes everywhere.

Now to answer the original question, 308 rifles. I don't get why everyone wants/has them.
.308=ford pick up truck, that's why everyone has them. Are there faster cars, sure, are there bigger trucks sure, are there smaller trucks sure, but they do what they do and they do it well and have been for a very long time.

It’s just the old standby ...... more rounds of 308 have been fired by snipers, hunters, target shooters, war fighters ....etc than any other round. Its been around a very long time, it’s cheap compared to most other larger rifle calibers, it’s a well understood round with predictable ballistics, you can get mil sure or hunters rounds in large quantities, the list goes on and on. I don’t own one, I have 30-06, 270, 6.5 creedmoor, 30-30 but no 308 but it’s not because I don’t like them. It’s the old faithful of rifle rounds

I am counting all 308’s including all nato 7.62’s ....but yes just standard old us 308 you’d be correct ....
I seriously doubt more rounds of 308 have been fired than 5.56, not even close.
Nwo that I think about it 30-06 May have most fired round of all time, WW2 took a lot of ammo ..... hmm I’d like to know which ...... but I did say large rifle caliber and I don’t consider a 556 to be a large rifle caliber
