Yeah... much as I want to be excited about this, I'm afraid it may allow the Feds to get a hook in our carry permit requirements, much like the CDL (Commercial Driver's License) when they became nationwide.

I'm a little torn on the issue because of state's rights concerns. BUT, if you analyze the issue in the same context of driver's licenses, it makes complete sense. It wouldn't make any sense for Arkansas to say I can't drive there because Oklahoma's licensing requirements are less stringent, and driving is a privilege, not a right. But all states are required to recognize my OK DL. Conversely, the 2A is a right, and should be afforded recognition nationwide.

Look into CDLs (requires a physical and a written+driving test). Do ya think they'll require less to carry a gun than to drive a truck?

Ah yes, the rule of unintended consequences...
Although it sounds great, I’m finding it difficult to wholeheartedly support this bill when we already have great reciprocity in place with most states. At least the ones I want to visit - I don’t visit or support those states that don’t support my 2A rights.
