Started out at Twin Peaks, then headed to H&H. The boys shot their 870s I bought them for Christmas, I shot the Model 10 I bought at Cabelas, we all shot the Henry 45/70 and the 300 wm I picked up from Tyler. Then the room we were in filled up with 4 people per stall, so we blazed. Only got about 30 mins to shoot, because I wasn't shooting in there with all them kids with ARs, lol... I think the 300 is pretty well sited, I didn't have anyway to stabilize the stock, so that said, I'd say she's pretty solid, we shot 15 rds through both...

This is the 300, 15 rds @ 30 (or 35 yrds, whatever their ranges are)

This is the 45/70, the 1st 5-6 were using the rest, the remaining were standing free firing.

The Henry 45/70 is everything I always dreamed of... sweet rifle...
I agree completely and understand your sentiments towards the rifle, I fell in love with my 1894 Gov't years ago. Now I have a minor infatuation with my .458 SOCOM and use it for everything I use the 45-70 for. @adamsredlines sparked my interest in Ruger No1's in big bore at a ENS a while ago, I am hooked and after shooting a few you may be as well. Glad you are digging the 45-70!!

I'm in completely with the .458 as well... I'm still looking at one day getting my dream of a Sharps buffalo gun, but instead of the 45/70, now I'm thinking 50/90. The problem with liking big boy guns, is the sky is the limit, and the wallet won't reach that high... haha

Agreed, the wallet reaches that high, but then the kids need to eat as well... lol

And it does not stop when the kids "are feeding themselves", no one bothered to tell me that even after they fly the coupe they still suck up my gun money...
I was all like :drunk5::mosh: oh yes the gun hoarding party is on like Donkey - Kong ( video game for all you old coots------ old school 8 bit video game for all you young console kiddies) BUT the better half was like:laugh6::tounge2::pms2::rubhands: we have us a rugrat(granddads little girl) that needs some lots of everything!!! You gotta buck up and say yes dear, cause you can't win against the argument that goes like " Don't you want your beautiful grand baby to have all those things we wanted for our children and could not afford" ( Hands on hips tapping the toe as she gives you that don't make me do the whole drop the mike and exit stage right thing!!!
