So, of course Annie gets there, and immediately ensconced herself at the head of the table, acting Queenly.
Myself, a lowly peasant, am relegated to a seat FAR down the table, barely even able to see the woman who vowed to protect me. I suppose I should be thankful I wasn't eating in the parking lot.

Sigh......

I'm almost certain I've been permanently scarred.

Haha! So I did. When Jenn is around I'm kinda fickle that way!! I didn't hear any blood curdling screams from your end of the table so I figured you were good. :hey3:

My first ENS and I'll be back !!! And Annie you had me confused with dumpstick. Sooo can I move closer next time. LOL

I figured that out -- FINALLY! :faint: Never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed! :hey3:

...True; adds a touch of class to what would perhaps otherwise be...merely a drab affair.

Haha! Hardly -- I'm always amazed you guys even let me know when and where these are! :hypnotize:

Hopefully next time I will feel better. I thought I was done with that crud I had but I'll be damned I came home and immediately passed out on the sofa. My chest is KILLING me. I guess I'm glad I didnt cancel that doctor's appointment I have for Monday. Blah. Hopefully I will feel like shooting at the next one.

You guys are always a fun date!! :sunbath:

So My ever growing list of needs(wants) grew today!! G29, gill gun, Keltec and re affirmed that I need a 45LC. Also DHoddy brought a pump action 22 that was neat, could you share some info on the make and model on that little jewel? Time to read some history on that and the gill guns!!
Had an absolute blast, and got blasted as well. Anybody that brings an AR into an indoor range with a Rolling Thunder Brake on it next to my lane needs this. :buttkick::smack:
Not in our group, but he was blowing things off our lane that didn't have nails in them. :madbox:
Other than that distraction, it was a great time, and loved every minute of it.
Met a lot of new folks. Cohiba made it to the eat part but couldn't make the shooting part. We had a good visit at Del Rancho.
Shot the Gill guns, and several other handguns that I've never shot before. Loved it.
The rifle Okierider asked about is a Winchester Model 1890 in .22 Long, octagon barrel, pump action. A John M. Browning design. This particular model is a second issue takedown model that originally had the case hardened finish that has evolved into a medium brown patina over time.
Back when longs became non-existent, I did a little work to it so it would shoot LR. The rifle is bullet specific meaning, one could not interchange long, LR, or short.
These were very popular as Gallery Guns back in the day around carnivals and circuses. Not many around that don't have the barrels shot out because of that use.
I still use it on occasion around the barn when wood bees come around in the spring. They have a tendency to hover right over the eve to guard their nests, so some .22 birdshot comes in real handy. I call it redneck trap shooting.
Got home, and it was so nice I loaded up the ATV and went to the off-road area at Kaw lake and went riding until dark.

It was a great time. Thanks all!
it was nice being able to shoot several different makes, models and calibers of firearms. Great to compare and expand the wish list.
The gill guns are definitely cool. Agree, the quietness of the subsonic rounds are unbelievable.
Sorry, no pics on my end, spent too much time gabbing and learning..
Man, I missed you evidently, or I forgot. Did we greet each other?

Sounds like an earlier version of the one my Dad had in .22LR. He sold/gave it (don't remember which?) to one of my older brothers. It was a pump, with a hammer and octagon barrel. He would whittle a small stick to put in the action (somewhere?) so it would shoot shorts or longs (when times were hard, he used mostly shorts).

Tried to buy it from my brother when I was 14. He wouldn't sell it, and not long after, someone broke into his pickup and stole it. :(

So I got home and got to looking at the one gill-gun that kept jamming. Its a new acquisition and this was the first chance I've had to shoot it. After a good inspection I've found that the cartridge guide spring is bent so it pushes the rounds to the side in the lifter. And of course its one part that I don't have a spare of. Oh well, Numrich has some new manufacture replacements. I'll probably order 2 or 3 so I have spares in the future. Maybe I'll be able to bring to the next ENS.

And on the Stevens 86. (The bolt action one) almost everyone commented on how smooth the trigger was. As manufactured the triggers on those flop around like a dying fish. I made a very thin brass shim out of an electrical wire terminal and used it to shim the trigger pin to eliminate the side to side slop.

On another note: by the time I left the one gill-gun had over 500 rounds of Thunderbolts put thru it today. It was still going strong and wasn't even slowing down from being so dirty. I should probably clean it anyway though.. Lol

Your fix worked. The trigger had a long pull, but was very smooth. I only had one FTE and it was the last round. Opened the bolt and it fell out.
