I went in there quite a bit but the no service deal made me quit and I did most of my buying at Southwest Shooters until they closed. H&H used to have to pretty descent prices and now they seem sky high to me compared to Academy. The internet has killed a lot of these stores seems like. Pawn shops used to be fun to go look in but now most of them think there used guns should bring new prices, the exception being Sooner State.

I heard that a lot about OAS but I adored Fred. And Robert Rigsby. And Gabe. And JK. Dammit. I miss that place. :cry3:
My 2 most memorable guns were from Fred Baker Firearms (OAS) back when they were located in the little strip mall next to the theater at 23rd and MacArthur. The first was a S&W Model 29 6-1/2" P&R with the presentation case. I bought it as soon as I turned 18. The next was a Colt AR-15 green label slab side, I bought it new in 1985 with my tax refund from my first real job out of college. I still have that one...

pretty cool story, I still have my Winchester Wrangler in 30-30 that I got for graduation it came from Southwest Shooters. I was in Mashburn's a couple of times when I was a kid in the early '80s.

Was Paul the owner? He wasn't very old was he? So I guess Jeff is running it now.

No, he just worked there to get out of the house after he left H&H. He passed away in his sleep 3 years ago, I think. He was LoneWolf'49 on here. Randy owns MG&P. Jeff is his nephew, I think. I know he and Randy are related, I'm just not real sure how.

I am fortunate to have Ricks and Butchs in my front yard out here in Woodward. I always hit SSP (all 3 locations). Outdoor America, yes miss them. C&J I haven't been to in years. Southwest Shooters I enjoyed. Mashburn Arms was an adventure.
