I don't even wanna get started on the joke called "traction control" in these trucks or push button 4x4. That crap helps you get stuck.
I miss the "get out of the cab and twist in the lockers" option. You knew damned sure you had it in 4wd even if stuck before performing the action.
Now, it's a ritual of push the button, back up, go forward, back up, go forward, and so on.
Gawdam asphalt cowboys that never see a lick of mud drove that issue.

Go buy you a Ford and you can do both, turn a knob, or get out and twist if you like :)

Had no Idea that was still an option. My Tacoma had full time with a manual lever to engage the transfer case, but the new Tundra is total switch on the dash.

Yep still an option. Most fleet trucks and XL models have them unless ordered with electronic dash switch.

That's why I ordered my last one with the 4X4 SHIFTER ON THE FLOOR. Yep, you can still get it, but not with the fancy wood grain and full length console. I intentionally gave up those comforts. The last 2 vehicles I owned with push button 4x4 had issues to the tune of a few thousand in repair for electical issues, not the drive itself.

Love my ram Cummins, but I just got my second “safety recall but we haven’t figured out how to fix it yet” letter.
First the water pump and now a parking lock
Pin for the column shifter.

I think the water pump may be the one weak point of the Cummins. A buddy of mine that worked for Cummins said replacing water pumps at 70k was common. Mine went out at 76k. Very easy to replace and the pump cost around $70. Only took 1 wrench in a parking lot maybe an hour to fix.

Yep. The fleet of 2500 and 3500 Dodges where I used to work were well known for this. The fleet mechanic kept a supply of water pumps and belts on hand at all times. Fixing on the side of the highway was also common.
