A while back I picked up a G17, but didn't really put some rounds through it til last weekend. I noticed an odd ejection pattern, and had 2 stovepipes. Today I took it back out with some different mags and ammo, and had the same result.

After whipping out my Bing!, I found that ejection issues were common and had mostly been pinned down to a faulty ejector (336). Supposedly the solution is Part #30274 which replaces the ejector. Anybody know about this first hand?

The early Gen-4 Glocks had issues with ejectors, extractors and recoil spring assemblies. Glock received numerous complaints about FTF and FTE and BTF. (Brass to Face). Glocks first response was for everyone to stop using WWB ammo and only use NATO spec ammo, that the recoil generated by the weak WWB ammo was not enough to ensure reliable function with the new dual recoil spring.

The complaints grew and Glock finally listened. I know of three different RSA versions before they finally got it right.

The dual recoil spring had been used in other models before, but not in the 17. After design changes to the RSA, ejector, extractor and the slide, the later versions seem to be more reliable.

I found the part on Brownell's for about $11 shipped, and hopefully it'll be here late next week. Unless they decide to ship it with my backordered P365, which would be kind of ironic.

Got the new ejector installed today. Didn’t have much time, but was able to run two mags through the G17. No stove pipes or brass to the face, so I’m hopeful that it solved the problem. I’ll run it hard tomorrow just to make sure.
