AR Ammo Recommendations for Hunting

My DD M4V7 shoot the Federal Fusion .223 62gr really well. It is not the MSR version but I'm not sure what the real difference is between the two but it shoots lights out.

Very true. Winchester 64gr power points work great for me. Accurate and perform well on whitetail and hogs.

62 and heavier.

You will want to go with heavier bullets with that twist.
55 grain won’t be very stable.

How is that??

You can't "over stabilize" a bullet.......while a long bullet won't stabilize in a slow twist barrel, a short bullet will stabilize and shoot fine from a fast twist barrel.

The longer a bullet is for its’ diameter, the faster the twist has to be to stabilize it. In the case of the .223 with a 1-8″ twist, this was designed to stabilize 80 gr. bullets in this diameter. In truth the opposite is true. A 1-8″ will spin a 55 gr. faster than what is required in order to stabilize that length of bullet. If you have a bullet with good concentricity in its jacket, over spinning it will not hurt its’ accuracy potential."
