I coached or assistant coached both of my sons in baseball.
It was a great job if the parents were kept out of the equation.
Their "superstars" couldn't make the back up squad, and were combative if they didn't make the A team.
Now they get a participation trophy for being at the event.

UPDATE:
Please confirm if you are going to come to this event for planning purposes; food, RSO’s etc. See post 53 for exact directions and time to meet.

Chadh20 will need to have an idea of how many for the range safety briefing and will get us in the gate, and David and Jen Hargrove are planning for the food part. Don’t forget a $5 bill to help with the chow. I’ll bring an ice chest with bottled water for all. Hope to see a bunch of you there!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Okay, it's time for an update: We are going to meet on March 31 at 9:30 am in the parking lot at the LOVES Travel Stop on Highway 9, just west of I-35 on the north side of the highway. The LOVES is basically across the highway from the Riverwind Casino. (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.1832331,-97.4978548,15.8z?hl=en). At 9:45 am sharp, we will depart the LOVES as a group and follow Chad (chadh2o) on across I-35 and down the road a short distance to the Tri City Gun Club, where he will provide us with access to the facility and lead us to the exact location at the range for the safety briefing. It is very important that you be on time; once we enter the gate at TCGC, Chad has to stay with the group and won't be able to come back and pick up stragglers.

Once we have had the safety briefing, we will go shoot! Yeee Hawww! As stated earlier, we can shoot both handguns and long guns here, (even those awful, uh...scary, mostly black assault rifles that are like... uh, weapons of war and stuff). Again, please review the rules for TCGC at their website prior to the date. I'm pumped up for this one; Spring is right around The corner and I am all worked up in a mighty, sweaty, lather at the prospect of getting to shoot outdoors. After we are done shooting, we will all go to the Pavilion and chow down on burgers and dawgs, courtesy of Jenny, D. Hargrove's wife and much better half. Don't forget to bring a $5 bill to give to Jenny to help cover the expenses of the food. I'll bring a cooler full of bottled water so if anyone gets thirsty while we at shooting, well, then you can getcha some to drink. Wouldn't hurt if somebody else would bring the same; a cooler full of water, or some sodas if you'd like.
Bump!!

I have confirmed that my services as kids' taxi driver are not required for 3/31, is it too late to add my name to the EnS attendance list? I ran into dlbleak a couple weekends ago and he twisted my arm pretty mercilessly about showing up.
