Myself and a buddy were planning on doing the Garand shoot, until we seen it was $50 to enter, kinda steep for us. I'd heard second hand that they're selling the recent 1911's there, anyone confirm?

I went and it was a lot of fun. I worked as a CMP Range Officer on the pistol range for two days.

The team from CMP that puts on these travelling events are very talented and very well organized. They have started using electronic targets for the rifle courses. But, the very high and gusty winds caused some problems. Oklahoma weather provided them an excellent test environment.

Lots of fun, and the M-1 sales was worth going for. I spend way to much there. CMP has said they wont sell the 1911's at the Games.
For more info just go to the web site. For a 1911 you will need to reapply and will need to pass 2 background checks, one from CMP and one from your chosen FFL. CMP will not be sending them to your home like they do with the rifles.
