Prescription Shooting Glasses

Well, I've decided to go with a set of Rydon glasses from Rudy Project. They will have clear prescription inserts and five colors of lenses. I'm going with front sight focal point in the lens of my dominate eye and distance in the other. Several pistol shooters I've talked with have been happy with this same configuration.

Well, I went to the range Sunday with my new prescription shooting glasses,,,
I just can't tell you how good it is to be able to see a crisp front sight.

My groups at 25 yards looked more like a shotgun pattern,,,
With the front sight in focus the group shrank to half it's former size.

I should have done this years ago.

Different options for different shooting sports.
(Lets assume you are right eye dominate)
1) Pistol or Rifle, Iron Sights, Right lens set for front sight, Left lens for distance (Target)
2) Pistol or Rifle, Reflex Sight, Right lens for reflex, left for distance.
3) 3 gun is a trade off unless all of the front sights are the same distance from your eye)

So, I'm wondering...

I have Rx glasses that let me see the front sight, nice and clear
And another Rx that lets me see the target.

I'd really like a set that lets me see both the front sight in focus AND beyond.

Any thoughts.

I would recommend my setup, front sight distance in the lens of your dominate eye and long distance in the other. If you to do a bifocal lens, you will have to tilt your head up and down to switch from front sight to the target. Some shooters have done it and put distance on the bottom and front sight on the top. That way, when you tilt your head down prior to the shot, your head is in a more natural position. But bifocals would be difficult with a rifle or shotgun since you would be lifting your cheek off the stock.
