thanks all, now all i have left to do is transition my sister into medicaid....and then go shoot some of this stuff i've been building and gathering for the last 3 years. as soon as i get the dan wesson bruin 10mm i'll have at least one of every caliber they produced. i may need a bayonet or two tho, i've always been fond of bayonets. another bubbling memory, bunch of corporals and lance corporals giving old Sgt Skipped the Light Fandango some grief about knife throwing. they had a board or two with a target drawn on it, heart center of mass. i was walking out of their tent and they challenged me to hit the target, handed me a bayonet, i turned and threw it using the handle grip, stuck the heart dead center...calmly walked out of their tent and made it 50 feet before i started chortling over how quickly my "skill" with a blade had impressed them.
I remember the bayonet training.
Never used for the most part, but a long time ago, I was hunting a field for pheasant when a guy came up and started ripping my butt for trespassing on my land. WTF??? (New hired hand from the neighbor that made a mistake)
He kept getting closer to my area that I don't want a mad person to be and the bayonet training came to mind about the parry and butt stroke. Of course there was no bayonet on my shotgun, but the butt stroke would have worked very well.
Nothing happened, but your comment about bayonet training jerked my mind a bit.
