I'm looking into a second, larger safe and would like some input on location. My two options are in the house in a bedroom somewhere or in the garage. Obviously, in the house basically means environmentally controlled and in the garage means really hot and really cold temps. It could be a struggle getting it into one of our rooms due to size, tight corners and some storage limitations. Storing in the garage would be easiest, but there is the heat/humidity concern.
Has anyone stored their guns (not ammo) in an area that is subject to high heat and cold temps?
What did you do to mitigate the temp swings and humidity issues?
I'm thinking cold is not that big of a deal.
Thanks.

My next door neighbor has a large Liberty safe in his garage. I recently ask him the same question. He chose the garage due to the same issues you have. He put this in about 6 years ago. He has had absolutely no problems. Several quite pricey firearms, and no worry of any form of damage. Because of his experience, I am considering a new larger safe for my garage.

If you have vehicles in the garage or store gasoline inside it your chance of a really hot fire exists. If you go the garage route consider this in your fire rating search.
