Stillwater News Press (paywall) is reporting that Payne County employees have been allowed to carry since May.
Are there any other counties allowing county employees to carry? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hmmm...

A. It shall be unlawful for any person in possession of a valid concealed handgun license issued pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act to carry any concealed handgun into any of the following places:

1. Any structure, building, or office space which is owned or leased by a city, town, county, state, or federal governmental authority for the purpose of conducting business with the public;

2. Any meeting of any city, town, county, state or federal officials, school board members, legislative members, or any other elected or appointed officials;

I'd hate to be the test case... :/

If by some accident of fate you become ensnared with charges related to this type of governmental overreach, be sure to demand a Jury Trial and all it will take is me or someone like me to insure that you walk out free.....

The problem is that "county approval" doesn't override state law. And I'm sure the judge would instruct the jury accordingly. :/

No... but county employees usually show up at the county barn for the day's assignment unless it's an ongoing project. :/

The county barn isn't a place where the .gov generally "do business with the public". However, offices and such may be.

Which is why we need better education about the right of jury nullification. Judges are part of the legal system. Well informed jurors are part of the justice system. :(

Dunno, I went to ours several times when I had the farm and leased pasture. And they had public dumpsters there (for rural folks) for years.

Seems like a thin thread to hang a defense on IMO. :/

How does this encompass CO employees?
And yes, there are other counties doing it as well.

A county barn isnt a "building meant for conducting meetings with the public".
