2018 Controlled Hunts

So did they already add a point to this years, as if I didn't draw, or was it added from the no draw from last year? Top pic was taken 7/6/17 which is after last years drawing I believe.

This year when I checked my points before I applied or right after, the points were still my 2017 totals and also included points that should have went to zero. So, they didn't deduct my points after last years draw and update the points for this years until sometime during this application cycle.

So, looking at points totals to see if they deducted any after drawing your application wouldn't of worked.

Well, I know they have added one point to my elk total since I applied this year. Yeah, Dennis, I'm at 24 points for elk myself and I'm with you on that bet. The Oklahoma 'preference point system' is a total farce.

I understand they can’t have a true preference point system. Too many people and not enough tags. But the “your name in the hat an extra time” kinda sucks.

I would prefer a weighted preference point system similar to what Colorado uses for bighorn sheep and mt goats.

I suppose one half dozen or the other. Either way lots of people will never get drawn.

NOT the wilderness area. Won't know which specific hunt area on the refuge until we get there ... UNLESS you know a way to find out, 'cause I don't!

@meatGrinder - congrats to your son and Good Luck! Where is that hunt? I've never even looked at it since it's a youth hunt and I haven't had any "youths" around here in a long time!

And, congrats and Good Luck to her! Looks like the young 'uns are doing well so far! I have considered Spavinaw, but it looks like the terrain is just too rough for me and my partner - he doesn't get around well at all. Beautiful country though!
