My view is shrug it off, do your best to treat people decently now and do not fret about things done in the past over which you have no control and no ability to affect now and frankly, no guilt to bear either.
Honestly, we might as well berate the “native” Americans for having come across the land bridge from Asia and despoiled what was previously a pure unsullied the land with their nasty human selves.
Likewise, the natives were not nearly so nice to each other as modern American mythology would have you believe. The only thing the Native Americans didn’t have was the technology to be nearly as effective at it as the Europeans were when they came over.
