I show no private messages from you whatsoever!

One barrel job for less than a hundred bucks or a military contract worth half a million $$$ which would you go with?

Exactly. It wasn't a big deal, and you agreed to do it. Probably wouldn't have even taken you 30 mins. You should have just kept your word. And this STILL doesn't explain why you wanted a 2nd form of payment...

And you got my private messages just fine. We exchanged like 15-20 messages back and forth, and you're telling me you saw all of them but the final few I sent? Please.

Reading this thread got me interested the actual ATF legalities of manufacturing. I don't intend to manufacture anything but I do intend to do gunsmithing in the near future. So I called the ATF to ask where this situation stands. A nice lady named Stephanie gave me some details. The three FFLs the cover various manufacturing are the 06, 07 & 10. Manufacturing of firearms, powder ammo...and the possible importing of same. Frankly if you read what these three FFLs cover you'll likely get the same headache I got. If your business falls into one of these FFL manufacturer categories you'll also have to register with ITAR...and yes it is a $2,250/year deal. To be a gunsmith you need an ATF 01 FFL and it has nothing to do with ITAR. the 01 FFL is the basic gun seller FFL. Gunsmithing is not just fixing guns it is also customization and modification. The ATF (Stephanie anyway) does not consider threading a barrel to be manufacturing. No I didn't get this in writing but I don't feel I need too. If I had my shop fully set up to take gunsmithing business I would not hesitate at all to thread an AR barrel. So, just some info. Hope it helps.

Another one bites the dust. If your business is custom gunsmithing, customer satisfaction is just as important as the quality of your build. Lets face it, business comes by word of mouth. All the major custom gun plumbers have great customer service. D and T Custom Gunworks did himself no favors within this thread.

Any luck? I would like to get the barrel of a Ruger MKIII threaded.

Yeah, I actually ended up having https://adcofirearms.com do it for me. Found them through searching a few other forums, and they were very reputable, so I went with them. They did a great job on the barrel and had it back to me in less than 2 weeks. They'll be getting any future threading projects I might need.

I tried to call a few other listed shops in this thread, but never got through to them, so I just decided to do the online route. Might be some good local options here, but it was just easier for me to fill out their order form and drop it in the mail.
