Just a thought; a inset leather border could be pressed around the glass in order to create a seal. Even some clear silicone wouldn’t be too bad.
That’s a good idea. I could cover the top of the desk with a leather and wrap it down and around the edges of the hole in the desk. That would give it a very nice finished look.

Daughter picked out some fabric today. I cut out some panels, upholstered and installed them.

Just need my daughter to fill her shadow box and I will set the glass top and this one will be finished.
