I never use KODI anymore. Got sick of messing and digging for links and never found anything good for live TV. For series and movies it's OK.

I'd check out Sony Vue and Direct TV Now for live streaming.

Kodi has movies IF you can find one. All too often it’ll have the title to a movies you’d like to see but it isn’t the movie listed. So you search again, and again...

If you want easy TV & Movies on the FireStick or any other Droid device, install The TerrariumTV app.

I used Kodi for a month or two until finding out about this guys build. I purchased the build to sideload my Firestick. It has a handful of add ons for movies, cartoons, tv series etc, and some live tv and sports can be found. You get support (not live support) and updates for life. (All of this for a 1 time payment.) This is the service I have and I am extremely happy with it.

In addition to the Flash Build (mentioned above) he offers a Flashpoint add on that has live tv, sports, and many PPV. (Small monthly payment) I don't have this, but he has a bunch of customers that rave about it.

I subscribe to sling.
Right now I have the blue package which gets me FS1, FS2, NFL, and the fox regional channels.
I also have the cloud DVR service.
Come September I will add orange to get the ESPN channels.
Then drop orange after the bowl games.

Exactly this.

There’s no way I’m paying for a stick set up with Kodi or any other illegitimate streaming service when I can stream it illegitimately myself for free in a browser.

Also it archaic but antennas work great for abc, cbs, Fox, and nbc (if you’re into Notre Dame... I’m not).

I mirror to my tv from the Iphone to the TV with netflix legally.
My app to direct TV plays on the Iphone plays on the phone great, and I can even select to record my home DVR from the phone, or watch what is on home to the Iphone.
We just got a Dish Wally to go for the RV and it works ok, but you can't record and watch another channel at the same time. With today's technology, I can't imagine they designed a device to do that.
