Yeah, a little $12 dollar adaptor from Amazon, and a HDMI cable that hooks from the HDMI adaptor to the TV is all it takes, and it's free.
And most common phones can do it wireless.
I was doing it wireless from my phone or iPad, whichever had a better charge. I was running an Apple TV 3rd gen at the time and couldn't download apps to it. So I just Airplayed it from one of the devices I could get Amazon Prime on. Worked perfectly.
I was referring to the Kodi streaming which a laaaaaarge portion of the streaming is clandestine.
A good number of People are buying the pre-hacked (jail broken) fire sticks to watch illegal streams. I just means if I’m watching an illegal stream imma do it for real free. I ain’t paying for extra hardware to do it.
I’ve been a cord cutter with a Roku and chrome casting for 6 plus years now. It’s always been pretty good even referring to the legit streaming. Like Netflix, UFC fight pass, etc. Except sling. Their stream at least at the time was awful and never streamed without major buffering.

I know of an old TV in New Mexico we did this with wasn’t smart. Used the iPhone as a DVR.
Bluetooth or WiFi; mine is the latter. Actually, I suspect that's more common, as a real network connection would make it able to access content directly.
No WiFi available in this location. Zero internet period unless walking out into the road and it can be -25 F at night.

I don't have WiFi access to the world either; I have an internal WiFi network. That's how my laptop, phone, TV, and BluRay player all talk to each other. My phone provides internet access to that network, but the connection between devices is definitely a WiFi (IEEE 802.11 standard) connection, not Bluetooth.
If there is zero internet access, how does one access it for WiFi to stream all these devices in my specific situation?

I play files I've downloaded elsewhere (I take my laptop with a YouTube download utility). Also, I can connect the network to the internet via my phone, but WiFi is just a networking protocol, the same as Ethernet (wired, IEEE 802.1 standard). Just as I can get a wireless hub and cables and build my own private ethernet network, so can I get a WiFi hub and build my own private wireless network, isolated from the world. Getting content into there is my problem. I can do that by downloading elsewhere and manually importing it (nicknamed "sneakernet," because you walk it from one network to another), or by connecting my small network to a larger one (using my phone at present, though it looks like I'll have honest-to-God optical fiber available in a year or two).
Bluetooth has a maximum theoretical range of about 33' under optimal conditions, and often far less. It's meant for connecting a peripheral to a single machine. WiFi has a much greater range, and is meant to be a general network connection, with any device being able to talk to any other.
I'd be kind of surprised if your screen mirroring is Bluetooth. It just doesn't have the bandwidth or the range to support a serious video connection. It's meant for keyboards, mice, audio devices, and maybe printers, on a one-to-one basis.
The cool thing is that the technology is getting refined enough that you don't need to understand the underlying protocol; it "just works." Apple is the king of this, but the Windows world is definitely getting better.
