You guys all need manpurses. And please don't be shooting at your junk. That kind of behavior makes Post 12s REALLY problematic.
I keep my man purse in my wife purse.....next to me balls

AIWB is the preferred means of carry for a lot of guys, but D. Hargrove hit the nail on the head; if you've got a gut, it won't work too good. Since I don't have to worry about a fat roll, I carry AIWB pretty often. It don't think it's really feasible with a full size pistol like you're talking about, but my G43 or my PPS works fine. Use your Google-fu and check out Cherries Concealment for a pretty innovative AIWB holster. I don't have one, but a friend does and he says it works well. I use an IWB kydex holster by PJ Holsters that completely covers the trigger and mag release, and carry just to the right of center. I wouldn't use anything less rigid. When I do go with AIWB, I carry my spare mag as I usually do; on my belt, weak side, bullets facing forward.

Another upside to AIWB is that with a little practice, it is often much faster to draw your pistol.

EDITED: About the belt...not a big Looper fan, but it should be fine, until it breaks down and goes all full Walmart-floppy on you. You'll know when that happens and the grip is floppin' out over the floppiness of the now floppy belt.
I looked at Cherries. Not for me
And i have a 2nd looper in my closet

Boy, I dunno. I carried that 34 or my Colt Gold Cup when I worked at H&H. They both got heavy towards the end of the night, no matter if they were on my hip, appendix or SOB. But then I have my fubared neck and upper back so that probably had at least some effect on me.
