Awhile back I described how my wife could almost walk up to the does she feeds in the yard while rattling corn in the feed bucket and Dave70968 requested a video. I’m too lazy to research what thread it was in.
It’s early in the feeding season so they are still a little skittish, but I did get within 40’ of them and didn’t want to press my luck. They will be more comfortable as the winter goes along.

Thanks, Dennis! Reminds me of my trip to Philmont many years ago; the deer there were so tame that you could have hunted them with just a knife without too much challenge. Turkeys, too; it was almost like a free-range petting zoo.

I'll be on the back side of Baldy elk hunting this year. Did you make that trip to the peak when you were at Philmont?
I've thought of putting a mannikin in a lawn chair out there, and then when they get used to it, sitting in it myself and see how close they would come.
Any Y'all have one of your blow up dolls you'd like to donate?

We did all three--Baldy, Schaefers, and the Tooth. Climbed Schaefers in the dark so we could watch the sun rise from the top.
