Haven't managed to make it to Big Boys yet. Those indoor league matches are humbling. Accuracy is everything in GSSF. There are a whole group of shooters that can throw down a perfect score on any given day and they pick the winner by X count.

I have read about half of the rules found here...http://gssfonline.com and it's a lot to take in.

Does anyone that attends these matches have any info or tips to pass on to newbies?

There's not really a lot to it. Be safe. Get familiar with the scoring. Preload enough mags to shoot the match (that's 5 or 10 if you shoot Stock AND Unlimited), BE SAFE safe and have fun. You will shoot 10 rounds on a fixed time. 5 strings at different ranges for 50 rounds. Pocket Glock is 5 round strings, so 25 rounds for the match. No holsters or mag pouches needed. Mag sleeves are handy.

Note that you do have to be a member of GSSF but you can sign up and pay at the match. There's a drawing in each series for a new Glock for those that shoot at least 2 of the 3 matches in the series. If you sign up for 2 years you'll get to do the pistol purchase (blue label pricing) as soon as you get your card in the mail. They have nice plaques for those that place and patches for perfect scores.

If you see a fatass dude that needs a haircut shooting his wife's purple baby Glock, that may, or may not be me.
