spotting scope mount

What do you use to mount your spotting scope on the bench. I have an old tripod for a camera but I need to find something alittle more sturdy, tripod gets a little shaky in the wind

They assemble like this:








There $50, plus shipping if out of town and you furnish the 1/2"pipe clamp and 1/2"X18" length pipe, found at any hardware store. There are amadexteris so will work for left or right handed shooters, RT hand is shown.
The pipe must be threated on one end.
