Well NW is still ranked #21 right now (before they lose). How was Texas ranked so much higher?

Just think of all the angst if Georgia had won. Honestly they need 8 teams in the playoffs. A lot more questions would get answered.

That’s always the problem ..... frankly if you play the clear number one to one score game are you really not worthy of remaining in your spot? I mean if the number 25 team played number 1 to a stand still they should move up? But You are right we need a bigger playoff system, Georgia is a solid team, I wouldn’t want OU to play them again.

OU lost in the regular season to Texas on a last second field goal after OU came back from 20 points down to tie the game in the fourth quarter, then beat the team that beat them (Texas) in the conference championship game. Ohio State was pounded by Purdue. There is no playoff case to be made for Ohio State.

And to put an exclamation point on it, OS would have to put a literal pounding on NW and they aren't doing that. NW is trying to rally after halftime and giving them some bruising of their own.

NW has cut the lead to 21-24 in the 3rd, and it looks like they have some momentum. A lot can happen in 21 minutes...like an interception of a tipped pass...

Short of a couple of "NW magic" events it's over now. Oh well it was fun watching Urban Meyer sweat a little. NW plays with some heart that's for sure.

NW has some 8000 students, OSU only 45,000 or so. Still, the 'Cats played with a lot of moxie.

So I guess the committee will have to decide between current 4th and 5th. I'm not sure of UGA's losses (I think N.D. and Bama, 2 top 4 teams?) versus a loss to Texas, an O.T. win against Army, a 3 point win over WVU and a 1 point win over OK State.

Edited to add I don't think they would want a first round redo of Bama/UGA

I thought the results would be Monday, but the ESPN folks say it will all come down tomorrow.
