Pistol/SBR question

Once a lower is built into a rifle it cannot go back to a pistol correct? I'm looking for a specific matched set no longer made so do you just ask the seller, if I find one, if they ever built it into a rifle? or?

That's a problem if you have to buy used.
If you bought a lower 20-40 years ago the 4473 form only listed rifle/pistol and all were listed as rifle.
Since about 2000 the 4473 has had a box for receiver only.
Problem is unless you are the BATFE your never going to be able to look at that form.
So anything used I would consider a rifle. But that's just my opinion.
I understand what your wanting to buy and the chances of a problem are very slim, unless you go robbing banks or something and then the point is really moot.

Incorrect. That is a factory offering from Remington sold through FFL with nothing more than a 4473.

FWIW, eForm 1s are coming back in as little as a few weeks. Now the only real boner-killer is the extortion tax to file.

My understanding is that if transferred as a rifle, or first built as a rifle, then always a rifle. If transferred or built first as a pistol it can then be built as a rifle and back.

I didn’t know the Form-1 was available for efile. When did that happen?
