The only down side is size. However not everyone needs a 338 can. The 338 Sig next to my AAC M4-1000 5.56 can. It is about 2" longer and maybe 20% bigger around.

Haven’t got it yet, but I did get a .30 cal can. It will get much more use on .243WSSM AND 5.56 rifles. I ordered the direct mount so I wouldn’t have to spend so much on muzzle adapters.

With the muzzle devices you can get devices in different thread pitch. With direct you can only run on barrels threaded to the same pitch. Not sure what the 243 WSSM is threaded but most 30's and 6.5 are 5/8 x 24 and 5.56 is 1/2x28.

This can has an adapter that changes out on the can for the 5/8 X24 or the 1/2 X 28 thread.
