Baker rushed for 893 in 3 years combined as a starter at OU, Murray rushed for 1001 yard in his 1 year as starter for OU, can’t imagine why I think he’s more of a running threat than Baker ........Brees ans Rodgers are pocket passers sure they scramble when they need to but it’s a low percentage of plays from scrimmage. Wilson, he’s trying to be a pocket passer but he’s the only one of the three that is a serious running threat at the QB position. It simple if you want a long career be a pocket passer. You probanly think Bradford was an amazing Pro QB lol

Again, you're changing he goal posts.

Never said that Kyler wasn't more of a running threat than Baker. I literally JUST said that lol. What I did say was that he wasn't a running QB. There's a huge difference. Check out Baker's rushing attempts vs Kyler and the yd's per carry. He's got an insane arm, better than even Baker. He's literally as good of a passer as Baker, and obviously a better runner. SO he passes as good as Baker...... who's breaking Rookie Passing TD records in the NFL as..... but you figure he's a "running QB" somehow and wouldn't be a QB in the NFL. You might want to reference Russell Wilson then.

Finally, again I don't think you're watching much football. The gotta be a "pocket passer" theory is dead. Why? Because you have DEs/Linebackers who are physical freaks. You have to at LEAST have some mobility. Mack, Watt, etc running around and you just can't rely on the O-line to give you 5-6 secs.

Not sure what you are babbling about concerning Bradford but I'll have to leave you with that theory, whatever it is.

Kyler's big drawback is his stature; he's going to have a lot of trouble in the pocket just because the linemen are so freaking huge these days. Brees is taller than Kyler by a couple of inches, and, as great a career as he's had, even he has a decent amount of trouble with his passes getting batted at the line.

What Kyler has going for him is an amazing God-given talent. That kid is the closest thing I've seen to the second coming of Joe Washington when it comes to elusiveness; he's the very definition of trying to tackle smoke in a phone booth. He'll turn on a dime and give you nine cents change, hit the jets, then give you that popup slide when the DBs get close. He's a lot like Baker in that he's very good at keeping his focus downfield and getting the ball there while on the run.

His biggest problem actually won't be anything physical, IMHO--it will be getting paired with an offensive coordinator who can figure out how to use his talents. Some coaches just can't get their heads around adapting their systems to match the talent they have, and try to shoehorn the talent into their system. If he gets saddled with an OC stuck on a pocket passer mentality, it's not going to be a success for either of them, but if he can get together with someone like Riley (maybe Kliff Kingsbury at the Cardinals) who can make use of his talents, it's Katie bar the door.

Just because you move out of the pocket occasionally doesn’t mean you’renot still a pocket passer, if you run 60 plays and your in the pocket for 40 of those your still a pocket passer. Yeah you may get forced out of it and yes you should be mobile, but your primary passing lane starts from the pocket it’s not changing that much. Injury and QB protection are still of great importance. The only thing Kyler Murray has in his favor is the fact that the number of Quality QB’s is limited. And I will bet you 100 bucks Kyler isn’t a starting quarterback 6 years from the day he’s drafted ...........

Thanks for proving my point. Watching OU play for 5 mins this year would show that a majority of his plays were not designed runs. Hence his pass attempts..... passing tds.... and total passing yards. I don't put everyone in a box like you do, but it's obvious that Murray was a significant passing talent.

He'd probably have broken more records if his receivers hadn't taken half the season to figure out how to catch the ball. They had some really bad drops early in the season.

Coupled with a horrible head coach.

He didn’t even start the first few games either.

I guess should have said a successful QB, and you can’t yet call Baker a success either ..........He’s had a decent year, but nothing outstanding? In 3 years we can have a discussion about how great baker is going to be.
Hmmm, I'll keep it clean, Baker is QB for the Browns. Perennial losers, not regular losers but Major League Losers. To win this year is outstanding. He has changed the attitude of teammates and the coaching staff. He has had an outstanding season. I say that if Baker Mayfield plays the whole season next year without injury that he improves his stats and Cleveland's record next year.

So you’re not taking the bet then lol

Like I've been saying you've done so much backpedaling and goalpost moving that it's becoming laughable. A number of things can happen in 6 years to ANY QB so it's a stupid bet. How about we go with your original statements.

"Kyler isn't well suited for the NFL" <--------- Well he's likely getting drafted, possibly in the FIRST round. Wanna bet he gets drafted?

"Well he’s not going to be a QB in the NFL" <------------- Wanna bet he starts as a QB at some point?

Now you've gone too.... "well let's see what happens in 6 years"

With Baker,

"The Jury is still out on Baker" Well actually, most consider what he's done to be extraordinary because he's won more games than the 42 other QBs that have started for the Browns. More wins obviously now than the last three seasons combined. He did it in a dumpster fire of an organization and broke a passing TD record.

"it's early to start building shrines". Nobody said that.... although I'll bet some in Cleveland would like to. I think most understand that it's not midway through the season and that he's had some significant success. When many said he wouldn't.

Demonstrably false statment.Brian Hoyer won 10 games as the QB, Derek Anderson won 16, Tim Couch won 23 games? Braker has won 7 games?.....Hell Colt McCoy won 6 games for the Browns in his own year and we all know how that turned out.

Sorry, put a "the" instead where it shouldn't have gone and it's 41. But you should get the point.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cleveland_Browns_starting_quarterbacks

Count the QBs..... Count the ones with less than 6 wins.

Point was that he's done better as a rookie than a good majority and already been more consistent. Not a successful season in your book. Highly successful in others given the environment and circumstances.
