Pretty difficult to avoid it, when the media is constantly thrusting that type of stuff in our face. If that was a straight couple it wouldn't have made news.

I actually do avoid watching national news. I can't stand them. On top of their political proselytizing, the male anchors always scowl and talk in their overly dramatic voices.

Why would people be upset about that? There were a lot of reasons the original photo was iconic, but the fact that it was a straight couple did not play a role. The fact that this later version made news was solely because it was a pair of gay men. As I said, if this was a man and woman recreating the original picture, it wouldn't have made news.

Yes I have. What's your point? Rarely are stories where a man is kissing a woman ABOUT the man kissing the woman. This story was a story because it was two men. It had nothing to do with the "recreation" of the original event.

And as I said, it’s ‘newsworthy’ because it was taboo so recently. If it hadn’t been made an issue by its prohibition, it wouldn’t be an issue now.

Too bad the people who don’t like it didn’t speak up sooner about the government limiting other people’s rights.
