I think the whole point of this article was to illustrate that when gun control is going to be inevitably passed they can influence and mitigate the damage and even poison it.

If you think the NRA is going to be the group that starts a physical rebellion you're looking at the wrong group, they aren't a militia.

I am a life member too but am fixing to join the GOA. I won’t give another cent to the worthless NRA. I should have joined long ago. If all the NRA members joined the GOA we wouldn’t be in the shape we are in.

Wayne and Chris should have kept their mouths shut and NOT said ANYTHING!!

There was nothing to say about the mass shootings that would make them less painful for those involved......ANY comment from the NRA would only invite people to lay blame on guns, gun owners and the NRA......they missed a great opportunity to SHUT UP!!

Instead, they did EXACTLY what the anti gunners do.......they vilified an inanimate object and alienated a large group of the members. It was a STUPID move!!!

I'm not against supporting the GOA, but it will be years (if ever?) before they have political clout to match the NRA.

Just because you don't have the perfect weapon, that doesn't mean you stop fighting. You still fight with whatever ya have.

Like it or not, the NRA is still the most powerful political weapon available for gun owners at this time.

Just my two cents. :drunk2:

What should the NRA have done differently?
They should have stood up for the 2A like they promised they would. But as usual they lie and stab us in the back. They comprise and we get nothing in return all the while Wayne and Chris get multi million dollar salaries for running a “non profit organization “. If you want me to continue I have plenty to say about it.

I get the frustration. I’m mad that we’re even in this situation. How could we, a republic, born from free men taking up arms against oppression, even be considering some of this nonsense? It baffles me. And, I used to be super frustrated with the NRA, also. Until…I was forced into being involved in politics and seeing how this whole mess works. Now I know what I have to do, and I hope everyone out there who cares about gun rights can get on board, too.

So, if you want to support GOA or FPC or FPC, or JPFO…that’s fantastic. Join your state organization, also. Be active locally. Let your elected representatives know how you feel on these issues regularly. But…be a member of the NRA, and be active. Vote. Let the board and the staff know where you stand on issues. Help to be a part of the solution. If we, as gun owners, can’t stick together and take advantage of the strengths of all of our organizations where they can do the most good, we will lose this fight. I’m not willing to lose.

The bolded part is what most don't understand in how it works in DC. 90% don't care about the 2A or any part of the Constitution. All they want is power and to be elected to more power.
They will sacrifice human life to get that power and think nothing of it because it benefits them personally.
Four people run this entire government that we live under.
The President, Vice President, Speaker of the House and the Senate majority leader. Nancy is two heartbeats away from being President.
The Speaker of the House and the Senate majority leader controls the congress like a dictatorship. No matter how you vote for a rep or senator to do your bidding, when they get to congress, the leaders of the house and senate dictate to them how they will vote and how they will conduct themselves or they will never get to a position where a street or gymnasium will be named after them in their home town. They vote as they are told to vote no matter how many times you call, email, or text their offices.
That's the reality of politics in DC.
Like it or not, the NRA is still the leading political lobby to keep our gun rights. I've been mad at them as well, and the smaller organizations are certainly appreciated. I belong to a couple state and nationwide lobby groups. We have to funnel our money to support those groups.
