I have no clue how they are going to fix those bridges short of tearing the deck off and replacing the beams. I'll wait n see but I hope they do because my new lady lives north off the TP and I live south off the new section of TP.
The turnpike extension is near yukon is connecting to airport road.

That's exactly what they are going to do. The plan, as I understood it, is to add a lane to the inside of each of the two bridges, making them six lanes each, then rehabbing the current deck to smooth it out.

The plans I saw on the OTA website if anyone is interested.

I think we have the same optometrist. His family and the wife and I go to the same church. I think his son is perhaps still in his internship at the moment, but I could be wrong about that.

Yes, his son is doing an internship in the Tulsa area with my boss's brother's practice. We also attended church with him and his family before moving to the Tulsa area.

Here, but occasionally There.

OK. When did you move to Tulsa? We attended that church from around May of 2003 until we retired in July of 2014. Maybe we knew each other?

Why are you derailing this thread TM

Because this is OSA - Derailing threads is what we do.. :wink2:

But back on topic, I don't see a need to raise it any further. It's already bad enough to come over one of the many hills on the Turner and have to slam on the brakes due to a traffic backup.

This. We design for vertical sight distance and stopping sight distance based on an object over the hill that is 2.5' in height. The Turner was never designed for 80 mph. I dont know what the design speed is but based on when it was built I'll guess 70 mph

it's almost like you're saying that roads are designed with specific speeds in mind and that simply raising the limit might not be safe, regardless of how much 'safer' cars are these days...

Thats exactly what I am saying.
If a road I am working on is posted at 65, it gets designed for 70 (5 over) The issue is, the speed limit has been changed a few time over the last 50 years.

it's always amazing to me how people react to stimulus like road lines. I do a lot with our town for alternative transportation and one thing we deal with a lot is how to slow down high speed traffic in neighborhoods and smaller roads (many of our older neighborhoods were build with through roads). Simply adding or narrowing road lines is a very good way to reduce speed in many cases (to a degree, anyway).
