SYNOPSYS: Man who lost custody shows up at middle school to get his child, armed with a handgun and "a backpack full of loaded magazines and more 9mm ammunition". He's confronted by 2 LEO's who tell him to leave. He refuses and gets into a struggle with one of the officers. During the physical altercation, he draws his handgun and fires at the officer twice. The officer returns fire and kills him (single headshot).

I find it amazing that the national media didn't pick up this potential active shooter. Could it be because he's an Antifa activist?

Oh, NBC did post a story on their website, with no mention whatsoever about the subject's armed political activism. :rolleyes2

It wasn't sensational enough. There was only one fatality and that was the bad guy. The cops shot him, not a teacher.
Everybody believes in cops in schools and nobody believes they should be armed only with knight sticks.
Wasn't sensational enough. The story doesn't help or hinder anyone's agenda.
I heard about it, you heard about it so nobody seems to be covering it up.
It shouldn't be a big national story when the cops kill one bad guy and there are no injuries among the innocent.
Who wants wall to wall coverage of one dead guy? They reserve that for multiple dead guys.

Look at what happened in Houston yesterday. Four police officers were shot and another injured.
Two of the cops are in critical condition. Two drug dealers are dead.
It's a national story because it fits the right criteria. If you just had the bad guys killed it would not be a huge national story.
If none of the Policemen had been tragically wounded in the line of duty it would not have been a national story.
That's just the way it is. And, Yes, TV sucks.

In an normal world the following sorts of reactions and press coverage would have been seen:
Antifa firearms instructor killed by police. School kids safe. Parents and teachers grateful to officers.
Heavily armed, disraught leftist attacks school resource officers and is killed by same.
Oregon officials urge investigation of Antifa and action to prevent future violence by same.
Southern Poverty Law Center to list Antifa as hate group.
Antifa insiders reveal twisted outlook of group after dropping out.
Teachers union calls for exploring all options to protect students.

I completely disagree with you. Completely.

First, I never said they were covering it up. I said they weren't covering it for the most part (posted the only national story I could find online).

Second, we hear about single dead perps killed by the police ALL the time. But only if it fits a certain narrative. We also hear about single school shootings ALL the time. We even hear about school non-shootings when the perp is caught before carrying out their plan.

So this one fall squarely within the bounds for a compelling national story, except for the angle I listed (which NBC ignored). I'm not saying this is a conspiracy. I'm saying they're not covering it when they routinely would in any other context.

Keep in mind you are addressing Iggy. Who knows what "really" goes on within that mind?

I saw it on TV. I think it got all the attention it deserved. It didn't make the round the clock loop, but it was on there.
We hear about the single dead bad guy because that's the kind of stuff that draws OUR attention.
The general public hears about the single dead guy because he was killed on camera in questionable circumstances.
The cops in Houston seem to have been CLEARLY in the right. If none of them had been injured, most people would turn the channel if the story was in the 24 hour loop.
