Not me. If I had the money to buy it be assured I would be at the range the day I got it putting 200+ rounds through it. I am a strong believer in using something for its intended purpose. Give me a 1.5 million sports car and I will put 100K on it. If you want something to just sit there, but some art that was designed and made to just sit there. Give me an expensive item that was designed to do something I will make it do that something, regardless of the cost.

Of course I say that when I balk at buying a firearm over $500 :D
I don't buy safe queens or wall hangers, either.

I do actually have two wall hangers, though. One is a WH because it's not safe to shoot and parts are hard to find (read: too expensive), and one is my grandpa's old Winchester .22 pump (I forget the model) that went through a house fire. :cry3: I talked to a late friend who was a machinist about restoring it, but he said the fire had done too much damage to the steel (maybe something about the temper of the steel, but it has been too long).

I'm somewhat guilty of this as well. I have an old DPMS that I inherited from my dad. I've put maybe 200 rounds through it, cleaned it and have not shot it since about sept of last year. Once I build me a new one I will completely tear my dad's down, clean and lube it, then stick it in the safe.

Winchester 1890 was a pump 22 (older with a hex barrel) and and model 61 was also a 22 pump

If ya wanna send me that "old Winchester" pump I'll take care of it for you!!
My brother was given a Winchester 1890 by our Dad before he passed, it got stolen from his house, then recovered by the police. It was found leaning against a tree in the woods and apparently had been there since it was stolen.
It was rusted solid, and the wood just disintegrated when touched.
I was able to get it freed up, replaced the furniture and refinished the gun to like new.
So long as the barrel is straight and all the parts are there don't be afraid of bringing that .22 back to life.

Part of the problem was that the barrel isn't straight. It's not bent like a banana, but it has some distortion in it. I got the action working, but he said it wouldn't be safe to shoot.

I'm in that "I don't have anything I can't shoot" camp. I do have some shotguns that I inherited from my dad and my father-in-law that I don't shoot, but it's just because I don't have any interest in shooting them, but I keep them for the sentimental value. None of them have any collector value, and shooting them wouldn't hurt them at all.

I've seen some commemoratives I would love to have, but push-to-shove, I'd spend the money on something I could take to the range.

I've got the 1890 model with hex barrel. Brought it to an Eat and shoot in OKC once. We shot it.
Edit: also have a small collection of English double shotguns that will never be fired by me. Damascus barrels are not safe. Investment use only.
