I think some of you know, but recently I just got smacked between the eyes with my own mortality.
In December I was diagnosed with lung cancer and December 25th, 2019 surgeons opened me up and were surprised by the size of the cancer. Since I was out on the table, my Dr. and wife decided to take the entire lung in hopes of getting it all. Just going at the cancer gave me less chance for recovery and a crappy life with chemo/radiation. They took all they could but a small flap on what they called the stump keeps leaking. I spent all of January in hospital and just got home the other day because I have chose no more surgeries.
The leaking continued and since the initial thoracotomy, they have had to go back in 8 times. Not fun.
Ok. Now you got the back ground. I was in great physical condition. Thank god because it will keep me off oxygen and I've got a great shot at a great life.
When and where I lived you had to be a man. Not a bully but a man. In other words, I took care of myself and those around me.
I've been a concealed carry guy for some time. I conceal carry by choice. Sometimes I don't carry at all because I feel I can handle almost anything.
That ship has sailed. Even though I'll surpass any goals set, I won't have the wind on endurance to meet any threat. Will not be able to protect my wife or myself.
So now I will be carrying every moment I'm out of my house. I will have weapons placed inside my home where I need them and if I feel it's needed.
So when I get out of the house, and back in the world, I'm going to share what works and what don't. It won't be for everyone but I thought it might be interesting.
I'll be testing several hand guns and holsters. It will be really interesting on the reaction to owb
That's it. Hope it will be helpful
