Welcome, and I second the motion to go ahead and get your Oklahoma handgun license.

I've thought about doing that just so I could carry when I travel out of state. I'm also looking into getting a Virginia or Arizona non-resident permit just b/c it sounds like from some of the posts on here OSBI takes forever to approve applications.

If you do take the class, try and find one that provides .22 semi-autos, or if you don't have one see if someone will lend you one

Thanks. I don’t plan on carrying for a while. Need more training, practice, and to actually own a weapon. Been looking at the Taurus PT111 G2

New unknowing shooters buy Taurus, do yourself a favor and find a good deal on a smith and Wesson or pony up and buy the #1 carried gun, Glock.. :greetings

Friends don't let friends buy a Taurus..... Ruger also makes some quality pistols that are economical - like the EC9.
And money spent on professional training is well spent.
