A few friends and I keep talking about taking a few weeks down there to circumnavigate the country on some adventure cycles. Take a croc tour North, swim the reef, dig for gold West, hunt dingo's, shark dive South, eat kangaroo steaks, etc... Just an epic adventure. Been tossing it around for 15 years or so. Gonna have to do it sooner or later.

Both my sons are mining engineers and they both live in Australia. One lives in Brisbane and the other in Melbourne. I've visited once . They both have been there 3 years but are returning by June .Very different folks .Since Trump took over they say people have treated them with distain! People they work with and socialize with . The grand children are in private schools. The oldest grandson had to be moved from a teacher because she was muslim. She harassesed and embarrassed him constantly in front of the class. My son had a fit with principal who would not punish the teacher and would bonly offer to move him. His company pays for the kids to attend the private schools as a benefit so he went through them with the issue. Long story short the company had minimial effect on the issue!
Its larger than the US in land mass I believe. Better take more than a couple of weeks.
