Holy cow, I got a notice from S&W concerning all 15-22s manufactured prior to February 1, 2019. Apparently they have discovered an issue with the bolt, potentially causing the rifle to fire and to repeat itself unintentionally. This has only been reported with TWO firearms but they are asking folks to either send for a free gauge to measure the suspect parts, or to return your bolt and they will inspect it and replace if required. They will cover all costs, including shipping.

Got to their website and check it out if you own one of these.

I just came home with 1 Thursday, shot a 100 rds Friday with no issues so I was quite happy.. Went to Gunmagwarehouse to order a few more mags @ $13.99 and they were out, Ordered/ backordered 3 from Midway for $11.99 each.. Then onto RFC to check out the 15-22 section and saw this.. OH well as the old saying goes chit happens..

My son bought one last May. He has put a lot of rounds through it without any problems whatsoever. We have the gauge on order from S&W so I'm not overly concerned. Kudos to Smith for taking this problem in hand.
